International Startup Talent Summit - Meeting with Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-Je2018/06/11

The Department of Economic Development of Taipei City Government (DOED) welcomed innovative technology startups to the 2018 Startup Talent Matching Forum. The meetings held in town aimed to facilitate international industrial talent exchange, increase numbers of overseas talent, and foster close business collaboration.

The International Startup Talent Summit was held on June 11 at the Mandarin Oriental Taipei and served as the background for the meeting with Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je. The mayor conducted one-on-one discussions with 25 startups from 16 countries, including the US, Canada, France, Poland, Australia, Belgium, Mexico, Italy and New Zealand. Mayor Ko Wen-je stated that Taipei City will continue working to improve startup resources and investment policies, as well as promote industrial talent-matching opportunities. This initiative would enable greater international collaboration, and relations could then be developed to fulfill the goal of “For Taiwan to reach out and open its doors to the world”. Its initial foundations are being paved in Taipei, providing fertile ground for great ideas to blossom.
